A TILTING ANGLE PLATE (and more) FOR YOUR MILLING MACHINE
A tilting angle plate is a very useful accessory for your milling machine.
Most tilting angle plates, bought or shop-made, involve the use of castings.
However, a tool & die maker in Seattle sent me drawings for one he made from aluminum plate, which would not be hard to duplicate.
(Yes, aluminum would be a hopeless choice of material for an accessory of this sort in a commercial shop, but it’ll do fine in the hands of the guy who makes it for his own use.)
Note: these plans also include drawings for 5 other simple workholding aids for your milling machine table:
a pair of locating/stop buttons
2 type of stops for the front edge of the table
a "catch-the-corner" work stop
a set of small planer-style toe clamps, and...
a big hold down for use on a drill press or milling machine. This last idea came from one of my guys who is an engineering professor. He frequently does "impossible" motorcycle repairs for his friends, and told me he uses this big clamping device to hold awkward jobs like motorcycle cylinders for honing on the drill press.
