This item allows the drilling of very small holes from the tailstock with ease, as it gives you a very sensitive feed to the drill, rather than the relatively insensitive feel you have when feeding a small drill forward by means of the tailstock handwheel.

This is not a major project, but it is one I think you’ll like. It plugs into the tailstock barrel’s taper socket, so when you’re not using it, you can whip it off the lathe and hang it on a nail.
