PLANS FOR TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES
-
the TINKER tool
and cutter
grinding jig for sharpening just about any cutter you'd find in a small
machine shop.
-
a rotary table - A
handy
fixture for radiussing the end of small parts, part circle machining,
milling
circular slots, or slots at an angle to each other
-
a tilting angle plate
- A
useful milling machine accessory. This set of plans also includes drwgs
etc for 5 other workholding aids
-
a universal sleeve
clamp has
many applications, both in the machine shop and in projects that you
might
sell or use in your home
-
a 2-jaw chuck - Adds
versatility
to your lathe; mount custom stops for making small fittings
-
a spring winder -
You can
make this little gadget in about 5 minutes, and use it in your lathe or
drill press to wind both tension and compression springs. This device
was
shown to me by an old tool & die maker. It's fast, simple, and it
really
works!
- a REALLY superior Tire Pump
- You can
make yourself a serious hand-operated tire pump that is probably better
than the one the US Military has used unchanged for the last 65 years.
Detailed drawings and How-To notes. Also includes a section on
spring winding - how to wind and heat treat springs, and how to figure
mandrel diameter to produce a coil spring of a given OD, using a given
size of wire. (The Spring Winder Plans listed just above are still a
good thing to have, but this information is more sophisticated.)
- a Shop-Made Scroll Saw -
Here is a nice compact scroll saw you can build from plans drawn up by
one of my customers who is a jeweler with something like 40 years
experience with piercing saws etc. It will cut 1/16" sheet brass, 1/8"
sheet aluminum, and 3/4" maple. It runs smoothly, is not expensive to
build, and features a variable speed drive.
